چکیده

We showed in Part I of this paper [1] that the estimation of the white-phase noise level of a sampled signal may be achieved with variances even if the sampling frequency is far lower than the high cut-off frequency. In Part II, the effects of spectral aliasing for the different types of noise are reviewed. The responses of the Allan variance and the modified Allan variance for high-frequency noises are calculated taking into account the spectral aliasing. It is demonstrated that the effects of spectral aliasing for low-frequency noises may be neglected.

Time stability characterization and spectral aliasing Part I: a time-domain approach

The noise levels given by spectral analysis are relevant parameters for the characterization of the time-domain stability of oscillators. The estimation of the noise levels of a sampled signal may be achieved with variances even if the sampling frequency is far lower than the high cut-off frequency. The effects of spectral aliasing for the white-phase noise are shown and a procedure for estimat...

Attenuation of spatial aliasing in CMP domain by non-linear interpolation of seismic data along local slopes

Spatial aliasing is an unwanted side effect that produces artifacts during seismic data processing, imaging and interpolation. It is often caused by insufficient spatial sampling of seismic data and often happens in CMP (Common Mid-Point) gather. To tackle this artifact, several techniques have been developed in time-space domain as well as frequency domain such as frequency-wavenumber, frequen...

A Novel Sampling Approach in GNSS-RO Receivers with Open Loop Tracking Method

Propagation of radio occultation (RO) signals through the lower troposphere results in high phase acceleration and low signal to noise ratio signal. The excess Doppler estimation accuracy in lower troposphere is very important in receiving RO signals which can be estimated by sliding window spectral analysis. To do this, various frequency estimation methods such as MUSIC and ESPRIT can be adopt...

Proposing New Methods to Enhance the Low-Resolution Simulated GPR Responses in the Frequency and Wavelet Domains

To date, a number of numerical methods, including the popular Finite-Difference Time Domain (FDTD) technique, have been proposed to simulate Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) responses. Despite having a number of advantages, the finite-difference method also has pitfalls such as being very time consuming in simulating the most common case of media with high dielectric permittivity, causing the for...

A Novel Intelligent Fault Diagnosis Approach for Critical Rotating Machinery in the Time-frequency Domain

The rotating machinery is a common class of machinery in the industry. The root cause of faults in the rotating machinery is often faulty rolling element bearings. This paper presents a novel technique using artificial neural network learning for automated diagnosis of localized faults in rolling element bearings. The inputs of this technique are a number of features (harmmean and median), whic...
